Tokyo cherry blossom

This has been my dream for so long - to visit Tokyo during the cherry blossom. Somehow it happened this year, the time schedule allowed us to take 8 days in between two events and we did it. Now in my mind there was supposed to be spring and 25 degrees, me running around in pink fluffy dress and barefoot with cherry blossom flowers in my hair. Well it was much colder than I imagined. Luckily we had sunny weather all the days, and in this 33 million city it is easy to spend 8 days exploring.

This was our first day. After our first sushi brunch we took a walk to Shinjuku Gardens hopping to see some fluffy trees, and there they were. Looking fabulous and being photographed by hundreds of happy visitors. Japanese tradition to have a picnic and watch these beautiful flowers blooming is called Hanami. Very popular activity during late may early april in the whole Japan. The love for cherry blossom, the attention payed to flowers blooming progress is impressive and cute. You can get reports everywhere giving you information in what park what day this particular tree is suppose to bloom. Enjoy, and bear with me, there will be many many cherry blossom photos!

Thailand for this year

Thailand has been good to us. Lately it almost felt like too long period to spend at once, it got to warm those last weeks in march, we were almost bored and counting days to leave. But looking back now on our first long stay at Thailand it was actually everything we could wish for. We found nice accommodation for good price, we had fresh delicious meals made by our Thai mum every day. Most of all we got the chance to really focus on work.  There were no distractions, no parties, mentally we were focused on one thing and one thing only, to get our little business up and running. Our weekly treats were dinners and drinks at one of many nice resorts. Our monthly get aways were visiting islands nearby. It sounds great indeed, and it was. But there should be no mistake, this was no vacation, it was just another way of living. So long Thailand until next year!

The storm

How powerful is the sky on these photos? It was crazy to watch how colour of the water and the sky changed from minute to minute, almost unreal. Of course we were last ones on the beach, running around and taking photos.

Last days at Imperial

The lovely resort Imperial at Koh Samui was our last treat for few days before leaving Thailand for this time. Apart from the cosy Mediterranean feeling they managed to create I have to give them credit for their beautifully arranged salt water pool, relaxing wellness lounge and the most delicious food at their Twisted Thai restaurant. As you can imagine from the name it is thai cuisine with a twist, so your curry would be served in a form of a burger. Fun. Greetings from Imperial.
